The new patented measuring arrangement of the Camsizer two
digital cameras as adaptive measuring system improves and
refines the principle of digital image processing. A broad range
of particle sizes from 30 µm to 30 mm can be measured with
great precision, without adjusting the measuring range or any other
adjustments.
There is a division of labour between the two digital cameras (CCDs)
during the measuring process. The basic camera (CAM-B) registers
large particles and the zoom camera (CAM-Z) registers small particles.
While the sample falls past the light source via hopper and chute
into the sample tray, the particles are measured optically without
any contact. The non-distorted digital images produced in rapid
succession by cameras are processed simultaneously by electronic
means. In this way, many different particle distributions and shape
parameters can be calculated precisely and quickly at the same time.
